This is a step-by-step guide to add Vialog to your Tumblr site.

- Create a Vialog on your Vialog Dashboard (free or paid)

Setup Tumblr Integration
- Log into your Tumblr account.
- On your dashboard, add a new Text post or edit an existing post
- Click the Gear ⚙️ icon on the top right of the Post and select HTML for Text editor before pasting your Vialog code.
- Paste the following code
<div data-vialog="YOUR_DISCUSSION_SHORTCODE"></div> - Add your Discussion Shortcode to the code before you click Publish or Save.
- To enable Vialog on your Tumblr website first go to Account / Edit Appearance
- At the Website Theme, click on "Edit theme".
- On the top left, click on "Edit HTML"
- Search for </body> inside the code (probably at the last lines of the code displayed here) and insert the following code before the </body> tag:

- Click on"Update Preview" and then also click on "Save".

Q: When I'm trying to save my custom theme, there is a Tumblr alert saying "Uh oh! We couldn't save your theme. Looks like your custom theme references assets from non-HTTPS URLs. Please try again using only HTTPS URLS." What should I do?
→ Using the build-in Search & Replace functionalities of Tumblr Edit HTML please make sure that you only use HTTPS.
Step 1: Change all "http" to "https".
Step 2: Search for "httpss". As multiple "s" characters may have been added, you need to clear those so that you only show "https".
Q: Why is my discussion not showing up?
→ Most likely the domain whitelisting is missing. Go to your Settings to add your allowed domain. You can also whitelist a domain on the bottom of the Discussion Settings page of your relevant discussion.
Q: How can I change the language of the Vialog?
→ Go to your Dashboard to select your discussion, then under Discussion Settings you can find a "Language" dropdown. After selecting the language, save and publish changes and then either use Copy discussion code or the Share link with the updated language.
